The weather forcast for Out of the Darkness held April 25th looks great!!! Sunny and 84.

Greetings unto the Archers of Atlantia,

I am Baron Jonathas the current Royal Archer, you know that position
formerly know as the Kingdom Archery Champion which is the winner of the
yearly Championship.  I encourage all to attend the many wonderful and
challenging archery events this spring has lined up, with Out of the
Darkness this weekend, and Southern Atlantian Archery Day and Lochmere Arrow
next month.  Then travel to take on the challenge of shooting to become the
next Royal Archer at years Kingdom Archery Championship.

As it is the tradition of the Royal Archer to hold the following
Championship, and the Barony of Sacred Stone has been kind enough to offer
up a wonderful site, I am putting togeather a fun and challeging shoot with
a few new targets and some old standbys, with a bit of a twist.  As many of
you who have shot the KAC in the past know there are several shoots which
are "traditionally" included, like that annoying one where you have to used
some random old bow with funky sometimes crooked arrows commonly known as
the "off bow" shoot.

This year I've chosen to take a twist on that shoot as well, and give
everyone a change to practice for it if they wish.  As you all know here in
Atlantia "archery" also includes the Atlatl, and yep you guessed it I've
gone *way* off bow, the Atlatl is what will be used for the "off bow"
shoot.  If you have never used and atlatl I encourage you to seek out
someone locally who has and give it a try.  For the off bow shoot at KAC, if
you have an atlatl you are welcome bring your own and use it, or an atlatl
and darts will be provided for you to use if you do not have your own.  It
is only for one shoot, but I wanted to be sure to cover that often forgotten
aspect of archery here in Atlantia.

Oh, you may also want to make up two or three flu-flu arrows for one of the
other shoots, yep there to loaners will be available if you do not have your
own.

In Service,
Baron Jonathas
Royal Archer
