It is I, your excited autocrat for Spring Crown Tournament, bringing you more news regarding the upcoming event. First, we have a website that will show you some pictures of the camp and also provide more information regarding the event.
Please go to http://ravenscove.atlantia.sca.org/frameset.htm. I would also like to add a few more specifics in this missive:
First and foremost, I would like to remind folks that the only good reservation is a paid reservation. Although there are cabin spaces and feast spaces still available, they are getting limited. So, although we would love to hold spaces for you, we also feel it only fair to provide spaces to those who send in payment. Please send in your reservations as soon as possible.
Secondly, the friendly reminder regarding minors attending this event still holds true. If you are bringing a minor with you that is not your own, please make sure that you have the proper paperwork with you. I do not like to be mean (contrary to what my children may say) but I will be a bit “autocratic” at troll if you do not have the paperwork with you. And I know that you will hate to miss this event because I have to send you away.
I would like to remind those that may wish to put a pavilion up on the list field that you will need to send your pavilion measurements to the list field coordinator, Baron Calledon of Halbourne. He can be reached at Calledon at hotmail.com. We do have ample space around the list field but priority will go to those who are fighting. The camping area set aside for period pavilions is located within a few yards of the list field, so you will not have far to walk. Additionally, we have set aside space for mundane tenting that is also not that far away from the fighting area.
All the cabins at the site have electricity and overhead fans. There are no heaters however, so please plan accordingly if the weather should be cool. We do not recommend space heaters, as the electrical circuits may not be able to handle such an overload. There are bunk beds in each cabin but the site does not provide linen, so please plan to bring your own. There are two bath houses available on site, each with 6 showers. These will be co-ed for the weekend. Both bath houses are located very close to the cabins, so you will not be walking a great distance to utilize them.
We are planning on providing children’s activities during the day and will also be providing snacks and a light lunch, free of charge. Please check in with the coordinator on Saturday for any further information.
That is about all I can think of for the moment. Please visit our website and take a look at the site. I think you will agree that it is beautiful. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
Yours in Service to Kingdom and Crown,
Lady Katharine de la Vache
