If absolutely nothing else, it is a great opportunity to get your
CPR/First Aid (including infant/children) etc certifications or
renewals. If you are a History/Social studies teacher, several of the
classes taught at Pennsic UNiversity these days are excellent
resources for medieval studies (some are real dogs as well...caveat
emptor...). If you're an art teacher or music, the opportunities for
study are top notch as well.
Science...well....a little less, although it's good for "How did the
medieval mind think scientifically?" in some classes.
Hope that helps!

I am a 7th grade life science teacher and of course our pre-school teacher work week is the last week of Pennsic. I have talked to my principal about it and he says that he could do it as professional leave if I write something up showing him the value of going to Pennsic. I was wondering if any teachers out there have found a way around this problem and might have some ideas that would be found acceptable to a principal. I have a slight in (I think?) as he used to be a middle school science teacher.
