         Well, let's see here.  I am not a trained teacher, but even 
a layman may be able to offer some suggestions.
         Teo deal with the obvious possibilities first, there are 
scores of different classes being offered, in a myriad of 
subjects.  At least one of these should be useful.  The ones that 
spring to mind are first aid, cooking, and brewing (all of which 
involve living or once-living organisms), since you teach "life 
sciences"  -- this does mean biology, does it not?
         Other possibilities are the sociology of an 
artificially-agreed-upon social order, and the ways in which people 
of divers backgrounds manage to coexist peacefully in encampments 
(with the obvious applicability to our mundane society and to the 
mini-society around a school),.
         I'm sure that others more learned than I will have much 
better suggestions, but I had two cents, so here it is.
