[MR] Drawing from a hat

Would two hats be better than one- a hat for Spring and a hat for Fall, with the groups expressing a preference for which hat they want to be in?  The ones with no particular preference could be used to even the numbers, if necessary.

their names in the hat, perhaps favoring those who haven't done it
yet/lately or whatever...but let the groups declare their readiness.
