kwellend_njal,
i dont personally know about the center of the kingdom based on population
but i suspect it would be on the eastern edge given how sparse a lot of
virginia and sc are. actually i dont think we have any "dense" areas except
for most of md and northern va since the majority of the rest are just small
towns (or, like charlotte, larger towns with small numbers of members). so,
i would say that it is more the geographic center of the kingdom. there are
some issues to take into account like the horrible traffic around the dc
area and, on the same token, most of sc and nc simply have no high speed
roads near them. the same could be said for parts of va like lynchburg, all
two lane roads going through towns. either way it is tiresome to sit on an
interstate for an hour in traffic or to travel at 45 mph through 11 towns
until you reach an interstate. and dont let someone get pulled over for
crying out loud...... everyone has to crawl by and look! what this kingdom
needs are little helipads in every barony and a fleet of choppers!
traffic clearly seems to be an issue of great importance for many and i dont
know that any of us have an answer for it. right now, however, we need to
see if there is some way to fix the lack of bids and the very difficult
process of finding viable sites with only a few weeks notice.

Is that geographically or center of population? I don't know if they
are all that different, but they are seldom identical.
Given Friday afternoon and evening traffic, even the folks coming
south through Stierbach are going to see slow going. It is better
than it used to be, but multiplying travel times by 1.5 is not
unreasonable for anywhere along the northeast corridor.
Still, not bad compared to some Kingdoms...
