[MR] Atlantia Digest, Vol 75, Issue 34

There are parts of Highland Foorde that are 2-3 hours from Frederick, MD. Yes, we do have population out that far. That puts them 3-4 hours from DC.
I don't care what Google maps says; it doesn't have to navigate DC traffic when there's an accident at the Springfield Interchange.

not everyone will be able to be part of the staff for this event if they
cant work around the distance issue (easily enough resolved without having
to be there) or if they cant get off of work. someone else could always do
it.
also, what part of atlantia is 10 hours from reidsville??

That's what is needed...but having to drive 8 - 10 hours to get to the site
to take a look at it is very different that 4 hours. Four hours...you can
drive there, look at the site, then return home all in the same day. A
long day, but still.... But an 8 hour trip will take an entire weekend
including an overnight. For a lot of people, this just isn't possible.

I don't mean to be "smart" here, but you obviously don't work for any
Federal contractors! I know that many bosses in our area don't think twice
about turning you down. Heck, I got turned down by my boss at one place
when I wanted to go to see my step-mother for what was my last chance to see
her alive!! I even tried to get leave without pay and was refused. So yes,
depending on your area, it will happen.

See above.....you are very lucky.

Again, I suspect it depends on the situations. I suspect that this one will
provide a number of major challenges for folks up here around DC...
