i mentioned that in one of my first emails. the next autocrat could, and
should, certainly talk with past autocrats to get ideas on what worked and
what didnt, contact for portajohns (nice to have near the field but only
needed there), etc. lord matthew had a great idea about making a site book,
not to mention that the whole relationship between the site and us could be
via the sca and does not have to be between the site and one very local
contact person/group. for example, i was the contact person for the sca at
the start of this coronation and had never met with the director until now
and he was so easy to work with that anyone with any sense would find him
amicable to anything within reason.

Subject: [MR] contracting a specific site and local groups

If thinking about a specific site, would it not be better to talk to the
local group involved first say at a business meeting and propose the
subject? Has that happened? I understand people outside the local group
develop their own relationships with the site management but those living in
the area might have experiences to share that one outside the local group
might not always see.
