if we go that route then we would need to find an actual southern site as
bjp is in the center of the kingdom more or less (5 hours from hidden mt and
under 6 hours from the northeastern tip of md.).  if you hold one in the
middle of va and call it a northern site then you must, in all fairness,
move the other to the center of sc to call it a southern one since those
would be equal distances from the borders.  which is also doable but doesnt
serve to provide a central location based on our borders that contains one
of the best sites we have available.  still, its an option of course but
only if an equally southern centric site was put in.

Your Majesty, unless I misunderstood the other gentle's proposal.

The idea would simply be that this particular site yes, possibly be
contracted, but not for 'both' yearly Crown tournaments, but just one.
Either the spring or fall edition.

Then the Northern Region would still be 'on deck' for finding a good
location to hold the other one.  Whether via traditional methods that
have served in the past, or via finding a 'set site' a little more
northern and/or easternly, and making a similar 1-event-a-year
commitment to them.
