[MR] kingdom sponsoring events - was Permenant Crown event site

At last Curia, Their Majesties introduced the law changes that would allow
the kingdom to sponsor kingdom event - fronting the money. To take it the
rest of the way, it also requires changes to the kingdom financial policy,
which is in progress. The reason this takes so long is that Kingdom
Financial Policy changes must be ratified by the SCA Board of Directors. But
they meet on Saturday in Williamsburg!

So: wait for it. We think it's coming.

Can anyone point me to where this policy is listed? I don't remember
reading this in the Kingdom's governing documents and I'd (obviously)
be very interested in learning more about this policy, if it's still
in place. Thanks so much for giving me hope Corwyn!! If this policy IS
still in place, I'm not sure if many folks know about it (or maybe I'm
the only clueless one, smile!)

As I recollect Kingdom CAN "sponsor" or front a local group hosting
the event per policy (been a while since I read it, but that's how
it
 was when I was KingdomSeneschal).
But getting bids from groups really really sucks. Pretty much every
single time it's a struggle to get bids. Like 10 times a year. Year
in year out. Even when that information was made available to group
seneschals. Removing a lot of that issue for two events (two that
are
required for us to maintain our kingdom status) removes a lot of
weight from the kingdom offiers required to beg/borrow/steal event
bids.
