As I was reminded recently we can hope but once a site is lost it's typically lost and not regained.  Thus it's not just a minor problem cut for a bandaid.  It's a serious issue when we're talking about sites as hard to get in general.

That's why I think the local folks should always have a representative as a deputy on the event staff for all events autocratted long distance to help maintain relationships.  Long distance relationships are nice and good to have but local relationships help heal any wounds much more quickly.
