That's what is needed...but having to drive 8 - 10 hours to get to the site
to take a look at it is very different that 4 hours.  Four hours...you can
drive there, look at the site, then return home all in the same day.   A
long day, but still....  But an 8 hour trip will take an entire weekend
including an overnight.  For a lot of people, this just isn't possible.

I don't mean to be "smart" here, but you obviously don't work for any
Federal contractors!  I know that many bosses in our area don't think twice
about turning you down.  Heck, I got turned down by my boss at one place
when I wanted to go to see my step-mother for what was my last chance to see
her alive!!  I even tried to get leave without pay and was refused.  So yes,
depending on your area, it will happen.

Again, I suspect it depends on the situations.  I suspect that this one will
provide a number of major challenges for folks up here around DC...
