[MR] and now the business stuff starts

I was going to send this privately to the Seneschals of Sacred Stone, Nottinghill Coill and their Majesties, but since it has been brought up....
As many here know, recently we in Hidden Mountain had our 25th Birthday at King's Mountain State park. I and my Co-autocrat, Lady Shae, were approached by Ranger Shea Joyner, the Park Manager. We were talking about things that would need be done at the site to make it more SCA (and other) user friendly. He informed us that the Park had recently been placed on the National registry of Historic places, so there were some limits on actual renovations to buildings, but that attempts were being made to make them ADA compliant and such.
One other thing that he mentioned was putting in mulch roads to each grouping of cabins, to allow folks to get closer for unloading. He did say that the SCA has an EXCELLENT track record on the site, and that if we were able to get some SCAdians to help on a work weekend to spread mulch to create these roads, that some kind of discount could be arranged for a future event, (Or possibly more, depending on what kind of arrangements were worked out). Lady Shae and I informed him that since we were not a group that regularly uses the site, we would pass the information on to those who do. Lady Shae, if there is something else he mentioned that I missed, can you fill in gaps for me?
Been tied up the last couple of weeks taking care of other issues, but since this just came up, and was mentioned, I thought I would bring it up.
I do like Gorm's possibility, as I know that is something that is done in other kingdoms I have been in. Everyone knows that Region A is on the hook for Twelfth Night this year, B for Coronation, C for Crown, et cetera. I do realize that there is still the issue of finding sites, especially as prices continue to go up, and incomes down.
Until the next,
Yours in service,
Cap'n Jack Black of Flint

Would it be possible to, perhaps, find not just one central site, but
3 sites, one in the central region, one in the center (probably the
one on the table now) and one more southern (KIng's mountain,
perhaps?), and contract with them to have the big Kingdom camping
events (Crown and Coronation). Rotate between the three sites, mixing
it up so that over a 3 year cycle, each of the three sites would be
reserved for each of the 4 biggies once.
That way we still maintain a regional rotation, avoid the hassle of
finding sites, and the sites are still close enough that most groups
have one in their neighborhood at least once a year.
It could be a problem to find the northern site (I admit, I am not
familiar with them enough to know), but I'd think most any site that
is friendly to us would be willing to set a reservation out 3 years in
advnace.
It would rob the Monarchs of one of their perks (declaring where they
want their Coronation/Crown to be), but judging from what I've heard
through the grapevine over the years, that's almost been as much of a
chore (cajoling someone to host, finding a site, etc) as a joy.
We do need to be able to reserve farther out, there must be a
solution. Perhaps semi-permanent sites are the right answer.
