Would it be possible to, perhaps, find not just one central site, but
3 sites, one in the central region, one in the center (probably the
one on the table now) and one more southern (KIng's mountain,
perhaps?), and contract with them to have the big Kingdom camping
events (Crown and Coronation). Rotate between the three sites, mixing
it up so that over a 3 year cycle, each of the three sites would be
reserved for each of the 4 biggies once.
That way we still maintain a regional rotation, avoid the hassle of
finding sites, and the sites are still close enough that most groups
have one in their neighborhood at least once a year.
It could be a problem to find the northern site (I admit, I am not
familiar with them enough to know), but I'd think most any site that
is friendly to us would be willing to set a reservation out 3 years in
advnace.
It would rob the Monarchs of one of their perks (declaring where they
want their Coronation/Crown to be), but judging from what I've heard
through the grapevine over the years, that's almost been as much of a
chore (cajoling someone to host, finding a site, etc) as a joy.
We do need to be able to reserve farther out, there must be a
solution. Perhaps semi-permanent sites are the right answer.
