Subject: [Attilium] Last day to mail reservations
To: attilium at googlegroups.com, elvegast at yahoogroups.com

Greetings my Lords and Ladies,

I just wanted to send out an email reminder that today is the
LAST day to mail your reservation for Le Grande Tournoi and get it in
time for Marion Le Red. She needs them in by Tuesday at the latest.

There is plenty of spaces left for feast, so please reserve now
so that our Feast o'Crat knows how much food to buy.
I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces next weekend.

I have included the flyer for the event, in case if you have any questions.

Bjørn av Trollfjorden

Le Grande Tournoi de Amitie (the grand tourney of friends)
April 17-19, 2009
Canton of Attillium
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One field of honor shared by equestrians, armoured, rapier and archery
combatants. Competitors will
join teams for a day of fun full of pageantry and tournaments. The
Cantons of Attilium and Elvegast
are co-hosting the event.
Website: http://www.geocities.com/canton_of_attillium/event.html

Martial Activities: Their will be tournaments for Jousting followed by
 Armoured, Rapier combat on
the field. The armoured combat will be a round robin tourney marshaled
by Sir Rodigo Falcone .
Points will be awarded for every win for your team and will afford
opportunities to fight every fighter.
Rapier for The Grand Tourney of Friends will be 3 melee battles. Red,
Black and Green teams will fight 3
melee battles testing their offense, defence, tactics, stamina and
friendship. 1st melee is
"Capture the flags" each team collects as many of their color flags as
possible and caches them in their
team's room. 2nd melee is "Loot the booty or boot the looty" bags of
loot are strewn about the battlefield.
Hunt for it or hunt down your foes for theirs. 3rd Melee is "A
friendly visit to your foes' home base"
Capture your foes' Rez point so that they cannot come back again. (let
your dead friends rest:)
An archery range will be set-up on the field for newcomers and experienced
archers alike to take their aim.

Arts & Sciences Activities: We are organizing an A&S competition to
include experienced artisans and newcomers alike.
There is a juried A&S competition that is a"Bring your Favorite".
Please show what you like to do the best and showcase
what there is to do in the SCA. At 11, there is a bardic competition.
Dancing will begin in the main hall after feast,
and because this is a weekend-long event, there will be no obstacle to
our passing several hours in revelry on
the dance floor after all have rebuilt their stamina at the sumptuous
table that will follow the day's challenges.
There will also be a herald competition for the 3 heralds introducing
the teams. For those interested in Falconry,
a demonstration will be available on Saturday.

Youth Activates:Children's Activities:
Elisabeth Hänsler will have the children making favors for their
favorite fighters, archers and riders; from 10:00 until 12:00.  There
will be a break for lunch from 12:00-1:30, also allowing time for the
children to present their chosen fighter, archer or rider with their
favor.
1:30 until 3:30 pm  the children will be making balls to keep and play
with at future events.  The children will have the opportunity to have
their face painted in the heraldry/colors of either of the three teams
competing that they choose to cheer for.  To get them in the mood of
"team spirit" we will play a game of "Loot the Knight" - this game
will allow the children in "helping" their team win the tournament.
This will be a relay race with the children, (ages/sizes evenly
distributed on teams) they will be broke down into the three teams for
the tournament.  1st place will contribute 3 points to their teams
score, 2nd place will contribute 2 points to their teams score and 3rd
place will contribute 1 point to their teams score.  There will also
be a pinata afterwards for the children to enjoy!
There will also be a Wee One Corner for parents/guardians to bring
their children to play with period toys and allow them a place to
color and socialize.
Baronial Champions: The Baron and Baroness will be selecting their
Jousting, Armoured, Bardic and A&S Champions from the
competitors of the day.
