[MR] WoW Pre-reg, Checks, Children

Greetings to those in the Tavern and gathered on the lists of my friends,

Please pass this missive along to those who will find it useful.

Make the Checks Payable to SCA. Inc., the Barony of the Sacred Stone. We have received several pre-registration checks made to the Reservationist and while she may welcome such gifts as there is a cruise in a few months, it does nothing for you to attend the event. We cannot accept these checks and they MUST be returned to the sender for new checks.

Land allotment is based on Pre-Registrations only. If your group is planning an encampment PLEASE encourage your folks to get their pre-registrations in with the size of their tents. Deadline for Pre-registrations is Friday October 3, the Friday before the event. Period. As of this morning we have only 80 pre-registrations received for an event that is expected to have several hundred attendees. Please. Pretty Please. Send in your pre-reg so we can give your group the land you will need and so we can plan a better event for everyone.

Children - At the last few events held at the Castle some children (usually in the 9-12 year old range and generally boys) have been seen throwing rocks, pestering the on-site livestock and pets and treating site property such as the swing by the pond in damaging ways. Please, parents, monitor your children and instill in them the understanding that they are not at home, they are guests. I am a parent. I know how challenging it can be and this age group is just at the point where we can start to give them some autonomy and freedom. However, some are abusing that freedom and damage has been done to the site and to our collective reputation.
