Elephant Stomp V was a huge success. Simply a huge success.
The drums pounded most of the night, and heads were still pounding on Sunday morning. We danced, we drummed, we talked, we drank, we had a rockin' good time with our folks and many others. We went through 21 pounds of sirloin, about 8 pounds of vegetables, and about 85% of a keg of India Pale Ale. At one point, we counted almost 80 in our camp, and ran about 60 all night until late, late. If you didn't come, you missed a real big time.
This year's Elephant Stomp Story: Phillipa and her Peeps
Phillipa brought all her peeps with her and in high Stomp fashion, they were each impaled and then "purified" at the stake. Some were crucified, impaled, made fun of and then "purified" at the stake. At least one was summarily eaten by random guests. Another was dropped on the ground, grabbed up by another guest who recited some silly chronological rule, and then summarily ate his new brightly hued companion, and a little grass, thus preventing the impalement and purification. When offered a chance to eat one of Phillipa's pastel buddies, one guest was overheard saying, "No thanks. I keep some of those in my pantry and burn them over the stove when I am in a bad mood."
All in all it was huge fun and we all thank you for coming and making it a success once again. Some have asked who to thank for the fun and I'll tell you:
The Knightly Company of the Banner of the Elephant - Sirs Falcone, Johann, and Finn
our beautiful wives, Magdalena, Rebecca, and Shelley
and the grillmeister, Randall of Gloucester
