Those of you Atlantians, or near neighbors. for whom Autumn would not be the same without TnT, take heart, it’s just six weeks away, on October 24-26. The title this year, Treaties Not Turks, reflects the theme of Constantinople at the beginning of the First Crusade. Come as yourself, Constantinople is a very cosmopolitan place, every nationality is represented here.
We are giving prizes for the person traveling furthest (in modern miles) to attend the event, and to the person whose personna has traveled the farthest to reach Constantinople.
We will have contests to choose the barony’s champions for armored (heavy) combat, rapier, archery, and equestrian events.
We will be choosing a bardic champion, with preliminary rounds during the day requiring at least one documented piece of a period-style or a period topic, and an original piece. The final round during the feast will test competitors’ ability to entertain the populace.
For the artisans we offer 50th year displace space, as well as the following contests:
Mother and child, in any medium, documentation preferred; and
An item used by a Crusader, or about the Crusades, documentation will get extra consideration.
The baronial artisan will also be chosen from among the entrants.
We will also have a special brewing competition, as well as selecting a baronial brewer, from among the entrants in a contest for SCA PERIOD NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES (since our event site is Bone Dry).
You do not have to compete for Baronial Brewing Champion to participate. This year’s competition rules are-
1) Each contestant must submit a minimum of THREE (3) different period beverages. You may include additional flavors of the same beverage BUT you must enter a minimum of THREE DIFFERENT period beverages.
2) Documentation is required for all beverages entered.
Your documentation should include, but is not limited to:
Description of your beverage
Country of origin
Time period
The Period recipe and your redaction
Description of how you made the beverage and the tools you used
Ingredients
Bibliography
3) Each container MUST have a tag that gives
the NAME OF THE BEVERAGE and the INGREDIENT LIST of that beverage.
4) Extra points will be given for display of the entry.
Prizes will be awarded for-
BARONIAL BREWING CHAMPION
