>From what I remember my grandmother saying and making an old time milkshake was made more like a heavy custard and made with heavy cream whipped eggs and flavor (short version)....this was a way too rare treat that she made possiably from work went into it ...this may explain the egg refrence you metioned ... another thing she made were malt shakes (think whoppers) she made this from a power ...if anyone knows where to get this malt powder please let me know..love to rediscover if it tastes same as remember!
