beautiful Mts. of Hawkwood this October! Join us for a weekend of
spooky fun.

Return of the Hawkwood Howl

Barony of Hawkwood
As the leaves fall from the trees and the nights grow short and
chill…something stirs in the mountains. Could it be? Could the stories
be true? Yes! The old-timers say that the Hawkwood Howl is returning
and we know they’re always right! Please join the denizens of the
Barony of Hawkwood for a weekend full of fun and fright. You never know
what might happen when the Hawkwood Howl returns!
The Autumn days in Hawkwood can be quite magical, so to honor that
tradition our tournaments of the day shall be the same. Both Armored
and Rapier combatants shall prove their prowess in the so-named “Magic”
Tourney formats. Be forewarned that mayhem may ensue. The list shall
open at 10:00 am and the tourney will commence at 12:00—high noon.
A&S: Artisans should prepare for a variety of competitions to test
their talents. These shall include:
--Best torture device --Best Ghost story --Best use of the colors
orange and black --Best use of animal skin
Feast: A hearty feast for 75 will be prepared by
Lady Susane d’Anjou

Site: The site is the Lutheridge Conference Center, 28 Spruce Drive,
Arden, N.C. 28704. 828-684-2361. The site is wet. No pets allowed.
Parking only in designated areas. Site opens Friday (Oct. 24) at 5:00
pm and closes Sunday (Oct. 26) at 11:00 am. There is plenty of tent
camping space and there are heated cabins for the first 25 pre-paid
reservations to request it. Merchants are welcome, but must contact the
autocrat.
Cost:
Adult, Cabin/Camping fee received by 10/18: $ 12.00
Adult, Cabin/Camping fee received after 10/18: $ 14.00
Adult, Day Trip: $ 10.00
Feast: $ 7.00
Youth (6-17), Cabin/Camping fee received by 10/18: $ 6.00
Youth (6-17), Camping fee received after 10/18: $ 7.00
Youth (6-17), Day Trip: $ 5.00
Youth (6-17), Feast: $ 7.00
Children 5 and under are guests of the barony, but they MUST have a
reservation is occupying a seat during feast. Feast is sold by SEAT,
not age! Non-member adults must add $3 to the above prices. Overnight
cabin space is available for the first 25 guests to pre-reserve with
payment. Tenting space is available for all others. All refund requests
must be received IN WRITING within 7 days of the end of the event.
Please remember that the only true reservation is a PAID one! Please
include an email address for confirmation.

Directions:
Find your best route to I-26, exit 44, Airport Rd. exit.
Coming from the north/west, turn left at the ramp onto Airport Road
Coming from the south/east, turn right at ramp onto Airport Road.
Follow Airport Road until it junctions with Hendersonville Road. Turn
right onto Hendersonville Road. The entry to Lutheridge is less than a
quarter mile on the right on Hendersonville Road. Signs will be posted
(we hope!).
