The day was as fine a day as a fighter could ask for.

The company was hearty and courteous.

The battle scenarios were fought with great heart and valour and joy.

And after the Horns of Hattin had been captured, defended, passed, and trampled; I did make the announcement of my Deed to all who would hear, flourishing and then planting the pennant nigh unto the Royal Pavilion.

It is a tribute to the energy and valour of all there, that ten most worthy gentles, including no less than King Jason my Liege Lord; stepped forth to engage me in combat à plaisance for the glory of my Lady Wife Catherine, and in celebration of my long years in harness.

I take especial note that another who stood forth was Master Axel of Taavistia*, who had only lately been elevated into the Order of the Pelican, and who later told me that he had come to that event with the express intent of meeting me in my Deed. I, for my part, came for the express reason that I knew of his impending elevation (and had a small part in the ritual), which he did NOT know until he was called into court.

The next and final standing of this Deed will be at the War of the Wings in the Barony of Sacred Stone.

*Also Knight and Viscount
