We still have 2 spaces available in the workshop if there are any
weavers who would like to come.

Subject: [HF] Weaving Workshop 16 Nov 2008
WHAT: Lady Alina Silverthorne will be doing a weaving workshop to teach
the techniques used in Perugian Towels. (See them at:
http://alina.wasteofbandwidth.info/perugia.html)
WHEN: 16 Nov 2008 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (or wheverever we finish). Lunch
will be Soup or Stew and Bread. Folks may bring stuff to share if they
wish.
WHERE: 8604 Slate Hill Circle, Frederick MD 21704 (about an hour from
Washington DC, and an hour from Baltimore
WHO: We will not cover the basics, so only folks who are already
familiar with weaving on a harness loom should come to participate.
(Observers are welcome, however). There are six spaces available. These
folk will share the two looms that will be pre-warped. The weavers will
actually get to do the technique, and will get their sample to take with
them at the end of the day. (If you leave early, we will not be able to
stop and cut your sample off the warp).
There may be a small fee (depending on whether I can scrounge the
materials for the warp and weft, or if I need to buy some stuff). (Since
you will be taking turns on the loom, bring stuff to do. I will also
have my weaving books available to peruse during the down time).
Space will also be available for anyone who brings their own looms
already warped. Looms should be warped with cotton or linen at 30 EPI
with a twill pattern (a pattern that will also allow tabby weave). Weft
should be a couple sizes larger than the warp. (Alina uses perle
cotton).
