We're not merchanting this year, but I'll spin Eadric's comment a slightly different way. In the past when we have merchanted, and have been having a really good day (and Holiday Fair was a consistently good day for us) we often wouldn't be able to get away from the table. We were certainly hungry, and certainly had money to spend, but couldn't get away to do anything about it. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Sending the urchins (or whomever) around was a terrific marketing ploy for those doing the fundraiser -- they sold me a lunch I likely wouldn't have bought otherwise. Just a thought for anyone running an even with lots of shopping ;-)
