Greetings to the bold populace of Atlantia from Erwin Bloodaxe, Baron of
Dun Carraig.

Another letter has come out from the baroness of Dun Carraig, trying to
paint her misdeeds in a favorable light, but well do I know that you are all
far too wise to be swayed by her honeyed and deceitful words.

Therefore, instead of expounding on the rightness of my own cause (which is
beyond all doubt), I shall simply provide you with the reasons that red is a
far more noble color than white--and is the color that all should wear to
Dun Carraig's War of the Roses.

-Red represents strength, courage, and power. White, on the other hand, is
associated with cowardice and fluffy bunnies.

-Red is the color of blood, and as all good Atlantian fighters know, blood
makes the grass grow.

-It's almost impossible to wash the stains of your enemies' blood out of a
white tunic. The same is true of grass, dirt, and sauces from the feast.
(Never let it be said that I am without concern for the labors of the fairer
sex.)

-White goes with everything. (This isn't a good thing--bright, clashing
colors are *period.* How else do you show off your wealth? A bold, bright
red is a particularly good color, as red dye is expensive.)

-If you wear white, you may look from a distance as though you forgot to get
dressed and are running around in your undergarments.

-Not only is white associated with cowardice, it is also the color of snow.
It symbolizes winter, that dull and dreary season without raids or wars.

-Red=COURAGE, White=FLUFFY BUNNIES. What more needs to be said?

So, please, come to Dun Carraig's Baronial Birthday/War of the Roses in
Waldorf, MD on November 15th (http://duncarraig.net/birthday/). And wear
RED.

Baron Erwin of Dun Carraig
