[to answer a question that's been asked, as far as I'm concerned rapier fighters are welcome to join the e-group. There's quite a bit of stuff that works perfectly fine for both heavy and fencing. That said, the fencers may want to start their own group simply to keep it from getting confusing. -JB]

Very soon we will be making a yahoo group for all fighters in the Southern
army. I have been asked to take up command of Southern army again.

We will have a data base of all fighters in the south that want to be part
of the Atlantian Army. The Army overall will be taking on a much more
military structure. Much like the Mongol/Roman command structure. That way
we can know who the active fighters are, who the part time fighters are,
and who just wants to come out and fight at war.

These are all things that we need to know to make an effective army. We
here in the south are way behind the guys in the north. Not in skill, but
in structure. That will soon change. I had many things going on this
weekend, and didn't get a chance to talk to many of you, or anyone for that
matter about my ideas for the changes we need. The first thing we need is
a data base of the fighters, and a southern army yahoo group that ALL
fighters can be a part of.

Once we know what we have for fighters, and their activity level, we can
begin to work on a command structure. We can list all the local practices,
and sites for practice. We can organize armor work days, and get a pool of
spare armor that can be used to outfit new fighters. If your anything like
me you likely have a pile of old armor around doing nothing but rotting in
the shed. We need to get this stuff out and see if it can be used to get
new fighters going.

At war, I would like to see Southern army in a uniform (or so) tabbard.
Atlantian blue, with Spike, or the Sea Lion. People can keep their
personal arms on their shield. So we may strike fear into the hearts of our enemies. So think about these things, and how you, would like to help.
