Unto those valiant officers of the Kingdom and it's branches preparing
to make the trip to Unevent do Celric d'Ravelle, Autocrat for Unevent,
and Gorm of Berra, Seneschal of Caer Mear, send greetings:

Just a few things to help in your preparations for Unevent:

1. The site is a High School designed in the "pod" style of
architecture...we have the use of the cafeteria and a set of classroom
around it. However, note that travelling between the classrooms and
cafeteria is done by passing outdoors. The pathways are covered, but
exposed to cold and wind. The typical December temperature in
Richmond is a high of 50 degrees, but subject to wide variation.
Please plan your clothing appropriately, and remember that Unevent is
a garb-optional event.

2. Crash Space/Hotel arrangements: The barony has made arrangements
with a local hotel (Sleep Inn, 950 East Parham Road Richmond VA
23228. Phone 804-515-7800) to have rooms available at a deep discount
rate for folks who make their reservations before November 28th and
mention they are in town for the SCA Unevent. There are other hotels
in the area if a Sleep Inn does not meet your needs.

Alternatively, for those wanting to utilize Crash Space, we are
offering some space in homes around the Barony. If you are
interested, please contact Lady Ysabella Cacemoine, at
otterpop63 at yahoo.com. Please indicate number of folks needing to
crash, likely time of arrival, if you need Friday and Saturday nights
or just one or the other, and any allergies to pets, smoke, children,
or anything else that may be critical. If you live in Caer Mear, are
willing to host crash space, and have not yet volunteered your space
to Lady Ysabella, please do so ASAP so she can match you up.

3. Lunch: There are a small number of fast and medium-speed restaurants
around the Unevent Site for your dining enjoyment. To help ensure folks get
hearty nutrition in the time allocated for lunch, the
Barony will be hosting a Lunch on site, consisting of hard-boiled egg,
an apple ,Chicken or Mushroom pie, Bread and compound butter, and
Spiced Grape Juice, for a fee of $5 per person. If you would like to
partake of that offering, please e-mail Lady Rhiannon of Berra at
Ladyrhi at gmail.com no later than November 30th. We will only be
preparing enough lunches to feed those who indicate interest, so if
you do not indicate your interest, you will be on your own. Any net
proceeds from this lunch will be donated to the Barony's meeting site
of the last several years, the Battery Park Christian Church in
Richmond, VA, to assist them with their annual CARITAS program for the
Homeless.

If you have any other questions about Unevent, please feel free to
contact the Autocrat at thecelric at gmail.com.

Thank you.
