Hi All,

this is a bit off topic, but I know there are a decent number of musicians
among our ranks, so I hope it will be of interest to a few.

I have a violin for sale. I am told by people with more expertise than I
possess that it's a very good instrument. Their best guess is that it was
made in Germany around 1900; there is a tag inside that says it was repaired
by A.E. Saxer in Buffalo, NY in 1926. I acquired in in 1986 or thereabouts
in Liverpool, NY. It has not been played much for at least the past 10
years or so and I'd like it to go to someone who will use and appreciate
it. The instrument has a very warm, mellow tone to it - a really nice
sound.

I am asking $2800 for it, but I am happy to consider other offers (monetary
only - no barter, sorry!), and I am including bow/case/shoulder rest in with
that (the bow is not in good shape, the case is a bit battered but perfectly
serviceable). I am located in Durham, NC, but am happy to make arrangements
to show the instrument at an event if you're interested.

Please feel free to share this with anyone you think might be interested;
folks are welcome to contact me w/any questions Thank you.
