I sat down and took a look through the bookcases to see what I'd missed. I've left out most of romance novels! <G> Some are pretty good and some are just dreadful! I have a real dislike of the 'only daughter, allowed to train with the castle troops, then must become a Perfect Gentlewoman when her father decides she must marry' formula. Bleh!
Anyway...
Margaret Ball: Duchess of Aquitaine. (Guess who!)
Ariana Franklin: Mistress of the Art of Death.
Pamela Kaufman: Shield of Three Lions & Banners of Gold (during the reigns of Richard Lionheart and John)
Norah Lofts: The Lute Player, Anne Boleyn, Crown of Aloes. She also has written several others that I'm still trying to get my hands on.
Judith Koll Healey: The Canterbury Papers. About Princess Alys
Noah Gordon: The Physician
Pamela Mercantel: An Army of Angels. About Joan of Arc
Brenda Rickman Vantrease: The Illuminator and The Mercy Seller
Rosemary Hawley Jarman: The King's Grey Mare. About Elizabeth Woodville
Anne Easter Smith: Daughter of York and A Rose for the Crown
Sarah Dunant: Birth of Venus and In the Company of the Courtesan
Mollie Hardwick: Blood Royal. About the rest of the Bolyens -- before Anne meets Henry
Margaret George: The Autobiography of Henry VIII and Mary, Queen of Scotland and the Isles
Vanora Bennett: Portrait of a Lady. One of Thomas More's adopted daughters
Karen Harper: The Last Boleyn. Mary Boleyn
Wndy J. Dunn: Dear Heart, How Like You This? Anne Boleyn
Laurien Gardiner: The Spanish Bride, A Lady Raised High and Plain Jane. I hope she does novels about the other three wives!
Reay Tannahill: Fatal Majesty. Mary, Queen of Scots. Sort of 'poor pitiful Mary, victim of the Evil Elizabeth'
Robert Elegant: Bianca: A Novel of Venice. Though very little of it is actually IN Venice or about Bianca!
