[MR] Siege at On-Target

Greetings to the Tavern,

Many of you have heard of the Barony of Lochmere's yearly Archery event,
On-Target.  This year the are expanding it to include most all of the
"missile" disciplines, this includes Siege.  Over the past year many
individuals have approached me to express their interest in siege,
unfortunately very few make it out to the range or battlefield.

One thing that several people have expressed is that they do not have a
siege engine of their own, and do not know anyone with one either.  Siege is
different then the typical weapon, sword or pole arm in that each person
does not need their own, but rather it is a "team weapon".  Last fall at War
of the Wings displayed that very problem, 6 engines showed up, but we only
had enough crew to operate 2 at any give time.

The plan is to have several different target ranges setup, and if there are
enough engines siege on siege duels, so that anyone may try their had at
siege craft as part of a crew, either with or without armor.  As with any
combat activity an authorization is required, however the authorization for
crew is fairly straight forward, and I encourage anyone with the interest to
come out.

Further more, by special invitation of Their Royal Majesties and Countess
Rowan, Master Jean Paul Pierrepont Siege Deputy to the Society Earl Marshal
will be at On-Target bringing both his personal ballista "Dragon Master" as
well as a siege target of his own.  So here is an opportunity to try your
hand with, next to, or against one of the best siege engines the Society has
to offer.  He will also have with him plans for the Docmo style ballistas
which will be for sale.

Both "Red" my onager and "Tiny" my traction trebuchet will also be at
On-Target, but as I'll be marshaling, they will also be in need of a crew.
So, if you have any interest in siege, either on or off the combat field,
here is a great opportunity to come play at a local event.
