It might look great, but our longships don't stand up well to 16" guns, Exocet missiles, torpedoes, small arms fire, or the occasional drummer type persona in a dinghy with a large firecracker.

Maybe we did kick Panama's butt in a day, but they have boats with motors and are much harder to hit.  Also, they don't have to block exploding shells with rattan, so their boats might last a bit longer than ours.  Oh, and since I have never seen taped up tennis balls or Baldr blunts do any real damage to a cheap helm built by an 8 yo foreigner, I'd buy a flag from a country with guns.
