Greetings unto the Tavern --
I have a couple of questions about the scroll backlog.
First of all, while checking on my friends' names, I noticed that several gentles whose scrolls are listed as "unknown" are actually deceased. What is the proper protocol for handling this matter? Should those scrolls be deleted from the backlog, or should a representative of the Kingdom try to contact the gentles' next of kin to find out if they would still like to have a scroll to remember their loved ones by?
Second, what about folks who have left the Society for one reason or another? For instance, I know a woman in my town who has not come to an SCA event in many a year, but she was extremely active in the 1970s and early 1980s. I see her name listed for four "unknown" scrolls in the backlog, including a Peerage scroll. Again, what is the proper thing to do in a situation like this?
I would be happy to forward the particular names in these cases to the Clerk Signet by private e-mail, but I thought I would raise these questions on this list in case other Atlantians are thinking similar thoughts.
In service,
Patricia of Trakai
