I've recently read the Margaret of Ashbury trilogy by Judith Merkle Riley
and enjoyed all three. (_A Vision of Light_, _In Pursuit of the Green Lion_
and _The Water Devil_.) They take place in the 14th century. I also loved
_Down the Common_ by Ann Baer and _Doomsday Book_ by Connie Willis (have
re-read that one many times!). _Doomsday Book_ takes place partly in the
future and partly in the 14th century - yes, there is time travel involved!
No, it's not cheesy. :-)

I'm sure if I think about it for a while I can come up with some others. I'm
a big fan of historical fiction.
