I would also like to add, that in all my years working EMS and Fire/Resuce, I would guess that 90% of the car/motorcycle accidents I have been on have been the fault of the car, either not looking, or not looking long enough for the bike....
((Course, there was also the Darwin Award winner who decided to race his supersport bike between lanes of traffic in a traffic stoppage due to another accident, and hit the open door of someone who had gotten OUT of their vehicle to try to see what was going on))
But, Lady Isolda is right, PLEASE watch around you, so that everyone gets home.....

My heart goes out to his wife.
Let this be a bitter reminder to ALWAYS keep an eye out for vehicles other
than other cars. With the improving weather and rising gas prices, more and
more people are taking to the road on motorcycles, mopeds, scooters, and
even bicycles. It's their responsibility to look out for their own safety.
It is also your responsibility to look out for them! Even a helmet cannot
save a motorist when a car pulls out in front of them. Look once, look
twice, then look again!
