  From the Charlotte Observer:
   
  "The worst of the storm in the immediate Charlotte area was felt in Mount Holly, McAdenville and Belmont, in eastern Gaston County. The Mountain Island Lake area in northwest Mecklenburg County also was hit by that storm, which struck the area between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
   
  Three Gaston County schools -- Catawba Heights Elementary, Gardner Park Elementary, and North Belmont Elementary -- are closed this morning due to power outages.
   
  At 10:40 a.m., Duke Energy reported 1,775 power outages in Gaston County and 946 in Mecklenburg County. Davie County was hardest-hit with power outages, as nearly 8,000 customers are without power there. Other Duke Energy outages include 3,348 in Forsyth County and several hundred in Guilford County."
   
  I have not heard of any weather related problems in Charlotte.  Weather now is sunny with a light breeze. - - And now back to your regular programming.
