No one is asking for that level of detail. The results of a tournament
can be presented simply and quickly in a form that everyone can
understand.
Each pairing is listed with the winner on top:
Round one:
Lord Bob
Lord Joe
Lord John
Lord Sam
Sir Surly
Sir Comfrence
Round two: ect
The list continues in this form until you complete the list. Does it
have to be entered by hand? Yes. But it does not take very long at all.
It would NOT be the responsibility of the MoL to check names against
the rolls or waste time emailing to verify the spelling of something
Welsh or checking all your titles. It would be up to the FIGHTER to
clearly write their name on the sign in sheet, and what you put would
be what you get. If you are Baron Fancy pants and you only sign in as
"Fancy" that is what will be on the List.
Some of our tournaments have very large numbers of fights. Token type
tourneys where you get a token for each fight you win in a bear pit for
example. These would not be listed singly, but only as the name of the
fighter and how many fights they won. There are solutions like that for
every type of tourney we hold.
As I understand it, the MoL keeps excellent records of our tournaments,
has done so for years and years. Why go through all that effort if the
records are then shut up in a box and only seen by a few lucky
individuals? Personally I'd love to see them published in the Acorn as
well as online, but I know that is yet more work for people.
Speaking of work, I know that I am offering other peoples time to
accomplish something that I would like to see done. I would be happy to
be one of the deputies that facilitates this work.
