Subject: RE: YOUR letters / RE: April Acorn letters

Greetings Atlantia from Logan and Rowan.

As We write this final missive We are preparing for Our travels to aid Our
Cousins of Trimaris at Gulf Wars. We look forward to the upcoming reign of
Our Heirs Sinclair and Kari and hope that everyone offers Them the support
and generosity that this kingdom is famous for. Under Their leadership We
are certain that Atlantia will continue to be the example the rest of the
known world strives to emulate.

The end of a reign is often filled with reflection and this reign is no
different. We would like to remind everyone that this society is one built
and reliant on honor and courtesy. We urge everyone to remember that as
they continue to explore the SCA and grow with it. As Monarchs We have been
exposed to some of the less pleasant aspects of any society. Conflicts
between opinions and desires are bound to exist in any gathering of healthy
minded people. Couple that with the true passion that many people in the
SCA, and Atlantia, feel about our purpose and experience and you are bound
to find some disagreement. We have been troubled at how quickly some folks
seem to assume the worst of others or how quickly they suspect nefarious
behavior is afoot. In the end it usually turns out to be simple
misunderstanding or miscommunication that is at the root. Going forward We
would ask that everyone try to remember that a polite society freely gives
the benefit of the doubt to its brethren. Atlantia should be no different
and it seems that we have drifted slightly away from that in recent years.
Communication is the key to resolution and that communication must be open,
candid, and well intended. When possible that communication should be face
to face as that removes much of the guesswork that is inherent in electronic
correspondence.

Reflection is also a time of great joy and an overwhelming sense of
humility. Again, this reign has been no different. The skill, generosity,
heart, and character of Atlantia is an awesome sight to behold. We have
both been moved by displays of all of those things over the last year. But
it is the generosity unending that is the most humbling. To all of those
that worked so very hard to support Us and guide Us over the last year,
thank you. Without your quite efforts Our performance would have been much
harder to accomplish. It is impossible to thank everyone individually but
We want to take a moment to thank both of Our retinue, Our kingdom officers,
all of the people that showed Us great generosity at each event We attended,
the local officers that keep Atlantias baronies, cantons, and shires
growing, the Barons and Baronesses who functioned as Our eyes and ears and
gave Us much appreciated counsel, and to the people of Atlantia for allowing
Us the honor of serving as your King and Queen. Vivat Atlantia!

In service and friendship,

Logan and Rowan
