Battle of the Oranges
Bahama, NC March 29th
http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/event_flyer.php?event_id=14b85d26
When you enter Ivrea, you will be given a number of small beads in a
bag. To enter any of the day's competitions (armored or rapier melee,
A&S static, cooking, performance, or costume), you will need to pay
beads; all competitions will also award beads.
You can bring your own fraternity, or make a new friend when you
arrive on site, and announce your group to the gate keepers (er,
sometimes called "trolls"). At the close of the day, each fraternity's
beads will be counted (or weighed), then divided based on the number
of members of the fraternity; the highest total wins!
Want to enter all the competitions, but find you don't have enough
beads? Beg! Borrow! (Don't steal…) Form a fraternity and get your
teammates to pay for you. You can even work for beads in the kitchen,
feast hall, or anywhere else that site staff needs assistance.
If you don't wish to compete, you are just as welcome (or possibly
more): you will have the power to reward the good deeds of the
competitors by giving away your beads.
