[MR] Origin of the Pelicans

  Greetings all,

     Assorted conversations on the list about the beginning of the
peerages brought a question to my mind.
     If, as was mentioned by someone, that the Pelican Order was
originally conceived by the BOD - who decided it would be called the
Order of the Pelican and why a Pelican???
     Just curious,
