I would love to hear from some who have an SCA web page. Do you feel it has reached your intended audience? Has it been a labor of love or frustration? (ie. How do you handle copyright issues?) All in all, why did you do it?
I don't know if this is relevant to the discussion, but Kumpania Painted Wheel has a (sadly in need of updating) web site.

Yes, I feel it has reached it's intended audience. Many people have contacted me about it, linked to it, and just enjoyed the stories and songs therein. I know a great many folks have referred to it and printed out our lyrics so they will be better armed when joining us for sing-alongs. And we're linked to a big vardo database a Wheel member in Maine put together. Also, part of the intended audience is Painted Wheel members themselves. We've gotten a bit spread out geographically. This is a good way to let everyone know what's going on with everyone else, and to archive our adventures for those who weren't there.
My only complaint really is that I had intended to post SCA related stories (we have a story section that has both real "no s### there we were" type stories, and character "support" fiction. While I have several very nice bits of writing from my own tribe members, I had hoped to add some from the other folks inhabiting our world (that would be all you guys). So far, no takers. Hint, hint. If you like to write, I'd love to hear from you.
It has been both a labor or love and one of frustration. Mainly frustration that I have been remiss in timely updates. It's harder for me to set aside time to devote to it anymore. Vincent and I made a pinky swear recently- if he cranks out some MP3 of songs to upload to it (which I've lost count of how many people requested that) then I'll update the thing in a way he will like (he doesn't much like it currently.)
The only copyright issues we have is with some of the song lyrics we've posted. Most of our stuff is either public domain or written by us, and the stuff that isn't, we simply cite who it belongs to. Everything else on the site is writen by various members of the Wheel, so it's not an issue. We aren't really using anything we don't have specific permission to use.
Why did I do it? I love my tribe. I am proud of them. That's reason number one. Other reasons include, but are not limited to: people asking for lyrics, people asking for details on how we made the vardo, my own tribe members writing awesome stories and me wanting to share them, my own great love of persona play and fascination with people's persona. Well, that, and evidently I'm a glutton for punishment.
Need to get off my duff and update. :-(
