Hail and well met good
gentles! I'd like to extend the invitation to attend an event in
Isenfir this coming weekend. It is not an official SCA event, but an
event hosted by a group made up of mostly SCA members, who teach and
perform at SCA events. Min el-Jbal el-Zarr'a is a group of dancers and
drummers of Middle Eastern persona, who strive to bring an authentic
performance that is entertaining. Each year, we host an event that is
designed to bring together the mundane bellydance and drum community
and the SCA's Middle Eastern community, through classes and discussions
and an evening hafla by firelight. The shire of Isenfir's gracious
Oxford family has been generous and let us have the event on their
farm, which is where many local SCA events are held. My intentions for
the event are to show both SCAdian ME dancers/drummers the classes that
are available in the local area mundanely, and to show mundance
dancers/drummers the wide variety of things that are out there for them
within the SCA. Each community has much to offer the other, and there
is very often overlap between the two.
