Friends and Neighbors,

As a person who subscribes to the digest, I have an interesting view of the
messages that go by. I read the topics that concern me, and only skim the
others. When one subject goes on and on, I can tell that it has touched a
nerve, so to speak, in the culture of our Society. For your amusement and
edification, may I suggest some topics that I see over and over?

* Peers: Jockocracy or Revenge of the Nerds?
* Heralds: Ornamentals or noxious weeds?
* Royalty: Selfless servants or arrogant leeches?
* Swashbuckling: A consolation prize for wimps or a rebuke to rhinos?
* New principalities: Natural evolution or vile treason?
* People who don't trim their posts: Inconsiderate or just ignorant?
* Belly dancing: Blessing or curse?
* New rules from Corporate: Ruinous or mostly harmless?
* Rumors: Refreshing candor or wicked slander?

We can argue about these all day, put please don't. We can even argue
about the wording of my summaries, but please don't. However, I invite you
to add any others I have missed. Perhaps we can number them and save time
in the future by citing "Flame war 15 a."

Your servant,

Charles Fleming
