Which is itself a myth, at least for the Laurels and Pels; the 
distribution thereof seems to be relatively even across regions, though 
some individual groups may have a disproportionate number of one peerage 
or another. (Here in Stierbach, f'r'ex, Pelicans outnumber the Laurels and 
Knights combined... perhaps by as much as a 2 to 1 margin even!)

That said, I don't believe that there is much of a plot. The forces that 
make it difficult to play with our further-away friends have gotten much 
harder to sidestep in the past two reigns.
