Inspiring people at events is well limited to the attendance of an event and
the ability of the observer to soak in a display. If you make an art more
accessible via the web you have the potential to have a bigger impact then
your binder, stapled pack of paper, or posterboard could have in the same
time or it would have in a years time. Its easier to say you are an
authority in X because the community at large has all the time it needs to
gauge the quality of your work. Much more so than an analog process where
you hold a class, hand outs or display something at an event. It also makes
you face to face time more valuable as people can quickly get to the stage
that can ask informed questions instead of give me an intro to your work
type deal.

Also I think it makes the SCA more reputable. There are so many SCA sites
that look like they are from the 80s. I see it as a service to the society
for anyone who can do it well.

Now if only I had time for an Arts blog and a Tech blog.
