> Greetings Atlantia,
Greetings Your Majesty, > This weekend I was amazed to hear that there are at least 4 rumors floating> around the Kingdom that are not true! I chose to believe that these are> just mis-speaks by one or two individuals who for whatever reason decided to> pass on this information to others instead of check the facts. So, here is> what the actual truth is:> > > > 1) Myth: We made up the children of sitting monarchs award> specifically so we could give it to our children. <...> >if a future Monarch would like> to give this Augmentation of Arms to our children, that is their call. Just> so everyone knows, 1) other kingdoms already do this and 2) Duke Olaf> originally approached us with the idea of starting an order for these> children.
I can attest to the former point. Some kingdoms even have special "Prince/Princess" titles for the children of reigning monarchs that last for the duration of the reign.

> 2) Myth: Sinclair and I do not support the archery community. This> is proven by the fact that we did not attend Kingdom Archery Championship> this past weekend.
This may be one of those instances where no matter what choice you make, someone will not like the result. Being Royalty is a tough job (Your Majesties know this, those others may need to be reminded). If it were just one event over another, I'd say that some hurt feelings might be in order. Being as it was a choice of two events, one having a great deal of necessity for Your Majesties to attend, people should extend more than a little understanding in why you could not attend the other.

> 3) Myth: We are not supportive of the Northern end of the Kingdom.> > Myth part 2: We did not have our Crown Tournament in the North, therefore> keeping the Northern end of the Kingdom out of the loop.>> 4) Myth: There is a Southern Plot to keep control of the Kingdom in> the South and give no power to the North.
These two seem to go together.

Your Majesty, I'm drawing a bit of fire up here lately for being part of something I'd like to see happen. A lot of comments and ideas have come across my email and to me directly.

I have not heard nor seen anyone accuse either of Your Majesties of not supporting the Northern Reaches. Part 3.2 I haven't even heard mentioned - it's ludicrous to boot. A couple years ago there was a Crown held on the nothern side of Bright Hills. The whole point of moving them is to bring the show to different parts of the Kingdom. Where a Crown tourney, like any other event, is held does affect in some part who will attend. The one held in South recently had one Knight from the north who made the journey.

Myth four, I think, is either a miscommunication or a misrepresentation.

There is no rumor of a such a plot.
There is a perception that in the string of recent southern Royalty that the northern regions are getting the short end of the Kingdom Level events. Your Majesties schedule, of which the Royal Progress is noted on the Kingdom Calendar (online and in the newsletter), shows that Your Majesties are getting around the Kingdom. There are some who are worried about how far your successors may travel, but that will not be seen until they take the Thrones and prepare their progress. Being quite far to the South, some are concerned.

It has also been mentioned that during spates of more regularly Northern Royalty, those in the far south of the Kingdom feel they are not or may not be getting as much Royal Attention as they might prefer. It goes back and forth. It is a perception. There has not been a proposal that a cabal of southerners are trying to short shrift the North.

The closest "truth" to the core of the suggested rumor is the quite real, vocal, and steadfast opposition to the idea of creating Principalities inside of Atlantia. The most vocal opponents (and those for whom they have claimed to be relating) come from the Central and Southern Regions of the Kingdom. It has made for an apparent opposition to a Northern Principality specifically, though enough commentary has opposed the idea of any Principalities being formed - North, South, or Central. That something is trying to get moving up this end of the Kingdom is drawing the current attention. The greatest number of vocal detractors are from the more southern parts of the realm and are bearing an image of "the south" denying "the north" any control over their own affairs. Those detractors aren't in official positions, there is no suggestion of a concerted effort, there is no wild rumor spreading about Your Majesties, nor any other Kingdom Official, being any part of some clandestine pact to abuse the North.
