You know, Her Majesty's post really hits home to me. I for one know firsthand that anything anyone says or does, no matter what their intentions and no matter how it's presented, someone somewhere is going to start throwing negative accusations all over it. And then it will get repeated and passed around and pretty soon taken as gospel. 
 
I really do feel for anyone who has to put up with this. And I imagine a lot of people, from Her Majesty right down to...well...us... have to put up with this. And folks, really, I'm not anyone of note, so if I'm getting gossiped about, I imagine we are all. 
 
We play together, we dream together. We're friends. We know each other. Let's give each other the benefit if the doubt every now again. Let's assume we don't know other people's motives, that maybe other people that we know to be good and decent might have reasons for doing things the way they do them. That maybe we don't know the whole story when we are busy jumping to conclusions. 
 
So, Your Majesty,all I can say at this point is try not to take it personally. I realize it IS personal, but if it's any consolation, you aren't alone in being smacktalked. People like to talk, and evidently the more negatively the better. At least in your case, nobody thinks all monarchs look the same and is accusing you of something some other monach did. (and I wish I wasn't basing that last comment on a real incident.)
