Your Majesty,

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of looking to the
pearls or even the Laurels to sponsor a youth artisan. As an
apprentice I can honestly say that for the most part children are not
focused or dedicated enough for the prospect of taking on
apprenticeship, (truly not a slight, just experience with children
telling me that fealty and its very long term ties may not be for
99.999% of our youth) however to have someone (within their field of
study) sponsor their art could truly go a long way toward ensuring
they do not get frustrated or feel they are being ignored.

Many fighters in Atlantia began their carriers in youth combat or
under the guidance of a local fighter. They were literally raised in
SCA combat and became some of our most revered fighters. But with
youth artists or young people they truly just love to serve, we seem
to sit back and wait till they do something above and beyond and then
give them a special award. They are left to their own devices until
they manage to be noticed.

I am just saying that a sponsorship program could help those aspiring
youths to really find their dream.

In service to all "great and small"
