Your Majesty,
These are all good questions and should spark some wonderful discussions.
For my part, I have been in all three sets of shoes, meaning I've done service, donned heavy armour and am now dabbling in A&S. Does this mean Im hunting all three???? And honestly what would be wrong with that? I truly feel that aspiring to become a peer not only drives us in our chosen field but also is a great compliment to those that have made the journey before us. I think the only way aspiring to become an Atlantian Peer could be seen as a bad thing is if the person in question simply believes they are entitled to it. "I've done this this and this...I'm better than so and so....I should be a Peer!!"
Just my two cents on that subject.
With regard to trash left on site, there simply is no excuse for this. Our camp ensures we have a sand pot for cigarette butts and there are always trash cans throughout site. Field dress your smoke and throw it out folks!
Youth A&S is a fabulous idea in theory, however, the problem ends up being one or two entries likely on diffent levels. Perhaps it would be a better idea to promote youth A&S classes, or if folks are in an area with a large youth A&S populace then be sure to promote the youth competition Kingdom Wide. I know if there is a competition in my field I do not hesitate to travel. Perhaps we could also encourage the Pearls to sponsor a youth artist???

So, I have heard that if a person does art and wants to be a Laurel or if a
person does service and wants to be a Pelican someday, people have been know
to say “The only reason they do XXX is to become a peer” BUT, a person is
not faulted if they fight and say “I plan to be a Knight someday”. Why is
that?
I have noticed a lot of trash being left on the field after people remove
their pavilions which makes for a more time consuming cleanup for the event
staff. We can all do our part by picking up our own trash (and that
includes cigarette butts).
*Why don't more events hold youth/page A&S competitions? If we are going to
legitimately call this a family activity, we need to provide opportunities
for our children to participate. My daughter routinely makes A&S displays
and sometimes has had to compete against adults as there were no youth
contests. At every event I am going to through the end of our reign, either
I or Princess Royal Katherine will be willing to sponsor a youth A&S
competition. Anyone under age 16. Please let me know in advance so I can
arrange to bring a prize.
