Forming a principality is not splitting the kingdom it is regionalizing the
kingdom. If the nothern groups want to have their own regional identity that
doesnt mean they want to leave atlantia. Lets be careful here. Splitting has
a conotation to it that doesnt match what forming a principality is all
about.
Forming a principality will have no effect on the size of the kingdom
because the principality is still part of the kingdom. We are talking years
before the splitting part would be possible and it may never happen.
I think for your answer look at Trimaris and Atenveldt both one state
kingdoms that have been around awhile. It can work:)
