I, frankly, am astounded and confused...
Much of the discussion sounds to be centered on travel, or the ability
of the crown and officers to travel to events.
What benefit would a principality serve to Atlanatia aside from travel
issues? I have not heard any mentioned.
I have heard a number of words that indicate to me that the desire for
a Principality is a personal one, and this sets me ill at ease.
Now going forward, several people have stated that "Crown Court/Crown
Access" is a major factor for wanting change.
Am I mistaken, but is there not a provision in corpora for agents of
the Crown (Coronets, Baronage, Senechals) to present awards on behalf
of the Crown? i.e. The same process of Crown decision is used, it just
gets handed to you by an "agent" instead of their Majesties. I do not
know other's feelings on this matter, but the award, commendation,
acknowledgement would not mean any less to me if given by another's
hand by order of the Crown. I see this as just as meaningful, since the
authority of the commendation still comes by the power and honor of
their Majesties.
Is there an article of Kingdom law that prevents this from being
practiced?
Is this a case of Atlantian precedent that prevents this from being
considered?
Further, what of our Dukes and Counts? Is their some manner of law or
restriction that prevents them from being apointed agents of the Crown?
There are a good number of their Graces and Excellencies that I look
up too and admire, and to be presented with an award by one of their
number would have great meaning.
If there are restrictions to prevent these thoughts from being
utilized, perhapse we would be better serving to our Kingdom to examine
these restrictions, and actualy think about what the underlying
problems that need addressing realy are.
Also, we are not the only kingdom suffering from the price of travel, I
have not heard such talk like I have seen on this list, and it is
distressing.
In my mind (and in the same thoughts as some of our esteemed
forerunners) The idea of principlaity should be from a desire to
establish a unique group culture... Is there a lack of Atlantian
culture, or is there such a desire in the northern end to examine a new
direction of kingdom culture that is seperate and unique from the
southern part?
Maybe we should look at that as well.
Though personally, I like the idea of insituting Duchies and Counties
if we want some sort of other division... not to mention it could make
great schtik!
