[MR] New Principality

About the only thing I can say from my personal experienec with forming a new Prinicpality is this....
As a Midrealmer who was fairly active, I saw a LOT of the problems that Northshield went through during their process, and I want to say that over all, from their first indication that they wanted to become independant of the Middle, it took probably close to five years...
What with forming "Exploratory committees" to decide if there was enough INTEREST in going that route, then getting permission from the Thrones (Who were all VERY receptive to the idea, because the Middle was so large), then permission from the BoD, and then all the hoops to jump through, it was a very long drawn out process...
Similar to a Group starting out, and working their way to Full Status, which can take a very long time as well, as Lady Shae can attest. ((The group she is Seneschal for JUST got full status after an eight year fight)).  I know a group in the Middle that is STILL Incipient after almost 12 years, because they keep having problems with all the hoops involved...
Just like any organization there are going to be growing pains, and pains when we want to grow....
Just me two pence on the table,

Subject: [MR] New Principality

I* *would be very grateful if Lady Sydney would explain this for me.( This
in not a criticism, I just don't understand what you mean.)
I cannot fathom why it would be a long drawn out and painful process.  Sure,
it would take time, that I understand, but is there something else in the
way?  I am sure there are many people that are willing to work on the
paperwork it would need, and follow whatever steps it takes to become a
Principality.  How hard can it be? Is it difficulty with the BOD, or what? I
think it would only be painful if people made it that way.  I personally do
not have any idea what it takes but I am volunteering right now to help.  *

I will not say that the idea of a Principality is a bad one. I will however
say that I do see reasons that it could be a very long, drawn out and
painful process.>
